Questor for Windows has been developed to provide users and system integrators with an easy to use low cost data collection application generator. Questor was originally developed for the Psion HC and is in daily use with an extensive range of users and developers. This broad and extensive use is testament to the power, flexibility and reliability of the product.

Questor is a software product which allows users of Psion Workabouts to define their own data collection templates quickly and easily on a PC, using any combination of a wide range of question types. The user is presented with a Workabout screen emulation to aid screen design and layout.

A new application can be designed on screen in minutes, downloaded to the Workabout and data collection can commence immediately.

Questor provides complete flexibility. It can intelligently link answers from one question to another: when a certain answer is entered, Questor can "goto" another related question. Hence templates can be structured logically in line with data collection requirements. Bar code data entry via wands and scanners is an integral part of Questor's auto ID capabilities. Questor also supports the use of down loadable look-up tables, an invaluable aid for many applications e.g. Asset Tracking, Product verification & Price look-up. Collected data can be simply up-loaded to a PC application such as a spreadsheet, stock file etc. Questor supports the full range of Workabout peripherals including the docking cradle.

QuestorBase is the PC design and communications component of the Questor system whilst QuestorMobile (one copy required per Workabout) is the "Questionnaire interpreter". QuestorMobile is supplied on SSD. QuestorBase runs under Windows, has full on-line help and is supplied with a comprehensive user manual. The purchase price of Questor includes 90 days telephone technical support, this may be extended for a further 12 months by taking up the optional extended support option.

There is a simple PC screen show demonstration disk available which gives an overview of Questor for Windows and takes you through a simple data collection template design, collecting data and subsequent up-loading.

For those wishing to evaluate the design aspects of Questor a fully functional PC version of QuestorBase is available with full user documentation for a modest cost. 

To simplify the selection of all the necessary components required to make a system we provide a number of bundled Questor "kits". These are designed primarily for the first time user as subsequent systems may not require all the individual components in the kit. If you are unsure of the best configuration for your particular requirement please call our sales team for advice. Kits are available in either memory size, and with either BCR or TTL interface versions. The kits are designed for users who require an application that utilises keyboard entry only or keyboard and bar code scanner input. None of the kits include a bar code wand or scanner, which has to be ordered separately. Customers who may wish to add CCD or Laser scanners should select the TTL/Scanner Support kits, whilst those who may wish to add bar code wands should select the BCR/Bar Code Support kits. A further kit using the Workabout Scanner with all required components is also available.
